About Workshop The university intends to assist and promote objective research in the social sciences and humanities. In this direction, Centre for Competitive Exams, training and Skill Development in association with School of Earth Sciences and School of Management Sciences, Sub-Campus organizing a One Week National Workshop. The workshop proposes to strengthen the academic talent pool of the participants who are research scholars enrolled in recognized Indian universities. Recent advancement in reserch methodology is need of the researcher for learning and understanding statistical tools for scientific data analysis. Statistical Packages for Social Sciences i.e. SPSS proved to be very popular software among academicians and researchers for data analysis nowadays, due to its easy and interactive interface. However, it is important for the users to he able to apply proper statistical tools for meaningful results. Hence, it is obligatory to explore various statistical concepts commonly used in real life using SPSS software through series of illustrations.

Objectives of Workshop:

• To understand basics of SPSS and its application in research work.
• To select appropriate statistical tools for data analysis.
• To enhance essential skills required to conduct data analysis using SPSS.
• To give hands on experience in statistical techniques through SPSS.
• To develop data interpretation writing skills.

Important Information

• Duration of Workshop: One Week, 13 March 2023 to 18 March 2023
• Timings : Everyday from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM
• Target Audience : Research scholars pursuing M.Phil./ Ph.D./ Post Doctoral in Social Sciences.
• Intake Capacity :The numbers of seats are strictly limited to 50.
• Registration Fees : Rs. 1000/-
• Requirement : Participant must bring own laptop with installed SPSS software.
• Mode of Workshop : Offline
• Venue : Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded 431606 (MS).
• Accommodation : Outstation Participants may get free university guest house as per university rules and availability.
• Working Lunch & Tea : Organizers will provide two times tea and one time working lunch on each day. Morning tea-breakfast and dinner should be borne by participant on his/her own cost.
• Transport Facility, TA & DA : Organizers will not provide any type of TA/DA or daily allowance to attend this workshop and also will not provide any type of vehicle facility for local / outstation transports.

Registration and Selection Process

• Aspirant scholar will register his/her name only through online registration link: Register
• Scientific selection committee will shortlist the candidates.
• Shortlisted candidate will receive an email from organizer for payment and other details.
• Shortlisted candidates must pay prescribed registration fees of Rs. 1000/-through NEFT to given account details of university in prescribed time period.
• The candidate should send the NEFT receipt / UTR Number receipt of payment to the organizer though an email. After successful completion of payment and required documentation process, the scientific selection committe will confirm the final SELECTION through email.
• No registration will be confirmed without payment of registration fees.
• No spot registrations.

THE SRTM UNIVERSITY

Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded was established on September 17, 1994 by the Government of Maharashtra. The University caters to the southern part of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra covering four districts including Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Hingoli. The SRTM University has 16 Schools on campus, 4 schools at sub-campus, Latur and a sub-campus at Parbhani; a constituent New Model Degree College at Hingoli. The University has 300 plus affiliated colleges under its jurisdiction offering 146 programs. The University hosts more than 70 foreign students across five countries. The University received financial assistance from RUSA, DST, UGC, ISRO among others.
The SRTM University, Faculty members have invented, patented and commercialized many ideas. The University boasts a Centre of Excellence in Seismology, advanced research instrumentation facilities, collaboration with Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics and MoUs with national and international institutions. The SRTM University has signed a MoU with the Virtual Labs project, an initiative of MHRD, NMEICT, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay. This will allow a paradigm shift in ICT-based education in the University.

SCHOOL OF EARTH SCIENCES

The School of Earth Sciences is one of the first Schools to be initiated in the newly established SRTM University. Presently there are more than 165 Post Graduate students studying in 4 different Courses including Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science and Geography in the School of Earth Sciences. Additionally, the School runs 2 Post-Graduate Diploma Courses in Geoinformatics and Mining and 2 Certificate Courses in Industrial Safety and Occupational Health and Water Literacy. Many of the scholars earned DST-INSPIRE, CSIR, UGC, ICSSR, BARTI, RGNF and other fellowships for conducting their research. The Faculty members of the School are well-qualified with national and international reputation and have earned laurels and recognitions at local to global level.
The School is recognized by the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) as the First International Student Chapter outside USA. The School has Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and academic collaborations with many National and International institutions including NGRI, IIG, NCS, ISR, INCOIS, AMD, IITM,NEERI and GSDA. The School is funded by UGC-SAP, DST-FIST, RUSA, ICSSR and UGC-Innovative programs. The School of Earth Sciences has generated funds to the tune of 5 crores through research projects. Centre of Excellence in Seismology (a RUSA initiative) is recently been established in the School of Earth Sciences.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

The School of Management Sciences started in year 2007 for nurturing the talent pool in the Marathwada region, especially of rural youth. It is a programme designed to prepare candidates to take up managerial positions in technology oriented global enterprises. The curriculum provides both the technical skills and business acumen to succeed in today's constantly changing digital world. Providing quality management education to students, helping them to secure a rewarding position in the corporate world and making them successful entrepreneurs are the foremost objectives of this school.
